EU to Ban Illegal Timber at Last Tuesday, June 22, 2010 We’re very pleased to see that, after years of lobbying by WWF, other environmental organisations and many timber traders, Europe has finally reached a political agreement on a new law to halt the trade in illegal timber. A new law banning illegally-logged timber from being traded in the EU is expected to come into force in 2012, once it’s officially endorsed by the EU parliament and governments in the next few months.
